We want to provide as much support as we can to those in our local communities who need it the most, which is why we’ve donated to six food banks across Dorset and Somerset this winter.
Costs are rising for many this winter, and the £500 we’ve donated to each food bank will go towards lots of food and household essentials that’ll help families who are struggling to put food on the table.
Tracy Hughs, a volunteer at Dorchester Food Bank, said: “If somebody finds they’ve got no food and no money, or they’ve had a big bill and find themselves in a financial crisis, they can be referred to us to provide them with a parcel of food that’ll last them at least three days.”
Tracy is one of the many hard-working volunteers at Dorchester Food Bank, one of the food banks we’ve donated to, who help to provide support to families in need in our local communities.
She continued: “Our packages have all the ingredients they need to put meals together, such as tinned and packaged food, meats, cereal, biscuits, pasta and sauces, vegetables and more. We can also provide household and personal care items such as laundry products, washing up liquid, soaps, shower gel and shaving gel.
“Magna’s generous donation will be so helpful in allowing us to purchase the things that we have less of, like household items, coffee, desserts, and jams.”
We’re proud to be able to support great causes in our local communities and help these food banks stay stocked up for families in need this winter.
