Repossession and eviction
We will only take legal action to evict tenants or licence holders after all reasonable methods of obtaining adherence to the occupancy agreement have failed, as set out in our tenancy management policy and the eviction procedure. Eviction is used only as a last resort and is subject to the authority of senior members of staff.
We consider that an eviction is “a tenancy brought to an end by a court order and the execution of a bailiff’s warrant. Eviction does not include abandonment, even where a property is abandoned in the period between a court order granted and a warrant obtained or executed”.
